At 12:13 PM today, whilst Sea Rescue Simon’s Town crew were working at their new base, members of the False Bay Yacht Club requested medical assistance for an adult male injured onboard one of the yachts on the yard.
Whilst working onboard, the patient sustained a possible fractured leg. Three of the NSRI crew members began treating the patient and activated Cape Medical Response
On scene, the CMR medics continued treatment. With the assistance of the NSRI Stokes basket and members of the yacht club, the patient was lowered down off the side of the yacht into an awaiting ambulance and has been transported to a local Cape Town hospital in a stable condition.
