A short while ago, IPSS Medical Rescue’s Search and Rescue division, together with other services including SAPS K9 SAR, Metro Police SAR and Durban SAPS SAR, responded to La Lucia for reports of a wall that had collapsed.
On arrival of paramedics and rescue personnel, it was established that a beam and wall had collapsed, coming down on workers below. One person was unfortunately declared dead on scene whilst a further three have sustained critical injuries. Paramedics are working to stabilise the injured.
Search and Rescue K9’s are currently searching the area for additional people.
