KwaZulu-Natal: At 16H20 Tuesday afternoon, Netcare 911 responded to calls for assistance at a construction site in Central Margate on the South Coast.
On arrival, a construction worker was found with the lower portion of his body severely trapped in a trench.
On the scene were KZPA, Ray Nkonyeni Fire and Rescue services, EMRS Rescue and SAPS.
A Netcare 911 emergency care practitioner specializing in Heavy Rescue joined KwaZulu Private Ambulance in the extrication.
Once freed and stabilised, the patient was transported by ambulance to the hospital for further care.
