The Centane/Butterworth Project had stalled for a number of months after the previous contractor had abandoned the site. This caused a public outcry, with people taking to mainstream and social media to express their dissatisfaction.
The 31,4km stretch starts from Butterworth at the intersection with the N2 all the way into the town of Centane.
DURATION: 14 months to complete, with February 2024 set as the completion date. This project is expected to create a few job opportunities for local SMMEs.
