At approximately 15h00 this afternoon Emer-G-Med Paramedics responded to the scene of an electrocution in the Cosmo City area of Johannesburg.
On arrival on the scene, a forty-year-old male was found in critical condition with life-threatening electrical burns.
Emergency Care Practitioners worked fervently to stabilize him before a decision was made to airlift him with the assistance of the Netcare911 aeromedical helicopter to a specialist facility for the definitive care that he required.
Reports from the scene are that he was conducting work for City Power when he was electrocuted.
The necessary authorities were in attendance and will be conducting further investigations accordingly.
