Mechanic and Machine Operator Left Seriously Injured After Logger Goes Out of Control.
Midlands EMS crews were dispatched to the Lidgerton area after a logger went out of control, crushing a mechanic and injuring an operator.
Upon arrival, it was found that the mechanic was in critical condition and required urgent advanced life support treatment. Due to the severity of the injuries, a decision was made on the scene to call in the assistance of the Netcare 911 helicopter.
The operator also required advanced life support treatment and was transported to the hospital for further care.
