The MEC for Limpopo Department of Public Works, Roads, and Infrastructure, Mr Ernest Rachoene has today, unlocked the construction of Mavhunga access Road D3669 in Makhado Municipality where he officially relaunched the construction of the road.
The project, which had stalled for about a year, marks a critical development in the region’s infrastructure. The Department has reiterated its commitment to removing underperforming contractors who delay progress in delivering infrastructure to communities.
During today’s event, the MEC briefed local Traditional Authorities and other stakeholders before leading a symbolic sod-turning ceremony, signifying the continuation of the construction of the road. The MEC was joined by RAL’s Accounting Authority, Mr Moses Tseli, Acting CEO Mr Makhita Chesane, and Senior Management from Public Works, Roads, and Infrastructure.
The delegation visited Phadzima-Dzumbathoho Village to introduce a new contractor after the previous contractor was terminated by RAL due to non-performance. The occasion was further graced by the presence of Makhado Local Municipality’s Cllr Dorcas Mboi and a representative of the Vhembe District Municipality Executive Mayor, Cllr Miyelani “Mabanana” Chauke.
