Progress has been made with the solar plant construction at the Hartenbos wastewater treatment works

On 27 November the first sod was turned at the Hartenbos wastewater treatment works, marking the implementation of a solar photo voltaic plant with a battery energy storage system.

This innovative energy solution will operate as a microgrid for the site.

The project started in April 2024 with an anticipated completion date is October 2025.

The site is located north of the R102 and the N2.
