Gautrain services suspended indefinitely between Park Station and Rosebank

Services are suspended indefinitely between Park Station and Rosebank because some person decided to drill a borehole, damaging the tunnel. Most likely, the person who drilled the borehole did so because the water systems are failing across Johannesburg.

Gautrain plans to take legal action against property owners after illegal drilling on a private property situated above the tunnel led to soil and water leaking into a section of the tunnel.

This has led to the suspension of services between Park Station and Rosebank.

Apparently, the cost of repairing the tunnel is estimated at around R3.5 million.
