The South African National Roads Agency SOC Ltd (SANRAL) has announced temporary lane closures on the N2 national route between Joyner Road and Moss Kolnik Drive for essential bridge jacking work. This work is part of the emergency repairs to the Mbokodweni River Bridge.
To facilitate this work, a full road closure of the N2 Southbound will be in effect during the following days:
- Saturday, 5 April 2025: 20:00 – 05:00
- Sunday, 6 April 2025: 20:00 – 05:00
During these closures, traffic will be diverted via the Joyner Road offramp onto a temporary detour route.
“Motorists are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and allow extra travel time, particularly when heading to key travel hubs such as airports. We urge all road users to exercise caution, adhere to traffic signs, and comply with speed limits while approaching and navigating the construction zone,” said SANRAL KwaZulu-Natal’s Project Manager, Serisha Sukraj.
